چکیده

The PANDA code is used to build a tabular equation of state (EOS) table for carbon. The model includes three solid phases (graphite, diamond, and metallic) and a fluid phase mixture containing three molecular components (C1, C2, and C3). Separate EOS tables were first constructed for each solid phase and for each molecular species in the fluid phase. Next, a mixture/chemical equilibrium model was used to construct a single multicomponent EOS table for the fluid phase from those for the individual chemical species. Finally, the phase diagram and multiphase EOS were determined from the Helmholtz free energies. The model gives good agreement with experimental thermophysical data, static compression data, known phase boundaries, and shock-wave measurements. This EOS covers a wide range of densities (0 100 g/cm3) and temperatures (0 1.0×108K). The new EOS table can be accessed through the SNL-SESAME library as material number 7830. Prediction of Vapor-Liquid Equilibria Using CEOS /GE Models

The present study investigates the use of different GE mixing rules in cubic equations of state for prediction of phase behavior of multicomponent hydrocarbon systems. To predict VLE data in multicomponent symmetric and asymmetric mixtures such as systems that contain light gases (nitrogen, carbon dioxide, etc.) and heavy hydrocarbons, the SRK equation of state has been combined with excess Gib...

Upscaling of Transport Equations for Multiphase and Multicomponent Flows

In this paper we discuss upscaling of immiscible multiphase and miscible multicomponent flow and transport in heterogeneous porous media. The discussion presented in the paper summarizes the results of in Upscaled Modeling in Multiphase Flow Applications by Ginting et al. (2004) and in Upscaling of Multiphase and Multicomponent Flow by Ginting et al. (2006). Perturbation approaches are used to ...

Multicomponent Distillation Modeling of An Essential Oil by the SRK and PSRK State Equations

The equation of state Soave-Redlich-Kwong (SRK) and its modification (predictive SRK or PSRK) are applied to simulate multicomponet distillation, which separate main component of spearmint essential oil. The simulation model is based on bubble point method, and the Wang-Henke algorithm. Spearmint essential oil is considered in the study and the original experimental data were obtained f...

Application of the Genetic Algorithm to Calculate the Interaction Parameters for Multiphase and Multicomponent Systems

A method based on the Genetic Algorithm (GA) was developed to study the phase behavior of multicomponent and multiphase systems. Upon application of the GA to the thermodynamic models which are commonly used to study the VLE, VLLE and LLE phase equilibria, the physically meaningful values for the Binary Interaction Parameters (BIP) of the models were obtained. Using the method proposed in t...

Multi-Component-Multiphase Flash Calculations for Systems Containing Gas Hydrates by Direct Minimization of Gibbs Free Energy

The Michelsen stability and multiphase flash calculation by direct minimization of Gibbs free energy of the system at constant temperature and pressure, was used for systems containing gas hydrates. The solid hydrate phase was treated as a solid solution. The fugacities of all components of the hydrate phase were calculated as a function of compositions by the rearranged model of van der Wa...
